Taking several initiatives to improve the health facilities across the State, Chief Minister Raghubar Das during a symposium titled ‘Medicinal Plants are the carrier of Health and Culture’ organised by Aarogya Bharti Jharkhand here on Wednesday said that considering the importance of Ayurveda and other home remedies in curing several prolonged ailments, the State government has taken up and is further keen to take up several projects to boost the Ayurveda and Naturopathy sector in Jharkhand

Construction of Godda Homeopathy Hospital has been completed. Construction of Chaibasa Ayurvedic College will be completed soon. Similarly, the construction work of building of Unani College at Godda is also complete, the operation of which will be done at Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode. Further, the land for the proposed 50-bedded Ayush Hospital has been identified at Itki, Ranchi. Soon in a month, a centre for Central Council for Yoga and Naturopathy will be started in Ranchi,” the CM said

The CM while addressing the gathering clearly stated that the creation of healthy society is the motive of the government; hence, attention is on creating a niche in healthcare sector for every kind of remedial treatment through adopting various traditional practices. “The State government has also identified 15 acres land for establishing Centre Council for Yoga and Naturopathy in Deogarh including a Naturopathy hospital in this district,” he added

The CM further mentioned that besides focusing on creating health and wellness centers in sufficient numbers including establishing ‘Yoga Centers’ at the State, district and panchayat level, attempts is being made to develop ‘Herbal Gardens’ at different places. “The State government has recently sanctioned the ‘Herbal Garden’ being developed on the premises of National Health Mission (NHM), Namkom

Focusing on ‘AYUSH’ project of the Government of India (GoI), a delegation from Jharkhand under the leadership of AYUSH Director recently visited Chhattisgarh. “The State government has kept the grant of Rs. 28 crore given by the National Ayush Mission. Soon, the State government will work towards this,” the CM further stated

On the occasion, the CM motivated the people to come forward in aiding the State government in popularizing the Ayurvedic Medicines – considered to be the way of life. “Jharkhand is blessed with abundant resources especially the green covers of the State has rich medicinal values. People interested in making their career in ‘Ayurveda’ sector, today has an immense opportunity. Demand of Herbal products and medicines are quite high in the international market,” the CM added

The CM during the event mentioned that the State government will provide all technical support to Aarogya Society in their endevour of establishing an Ayurveda Plant in promoting Ayurveda and Naturopathy. The CM urged to the organising committee members to conduct seminars, workshops in different districts for creating awareness among the public about ‘Ayurveda and Naturopathy

To mark the occasion, a few practitioners of AYUSH were felicitated by the CM. A souvenir – highlighting on the importance of Ayurveda was also released on the occasion. Quite a number of senior officials, staffs of Aarogya Bharti organisation were present on the occasion
